This Community outdoor service was part of our outreach still continuing the strong links to the community of Morley that St Mary’s has had for 100’s of years . It was held in the St Mary’s Allotments Gardens, Marshall Street.
The gate was dedicated to Shirley Varley as she always wanted a new gate on the allotments when it fell into disrepair. After her passing we were obliged for health and safety reasons to replace the gate and we dedicated it to her service as church secretary and commitment to the town which she demonstrated in so many ways.
Because of the very rainy and windy day we had to move our service indoors due to the weather, after the dedication, and this was followed by a lunch and fellowship with people who work and enjoy the allotments . We are a church without a permanent home still reaching out to the community in which it serves.
